The Effervescence Project - 2021 - Stage 2
The Ceramics!
In a calm, public place
With tea and ideas, some paper, and ink.
An aperture
Immersion, communion, focused.
Tools and Information
Body and Mind dialogue
In the midst of others.
Later,
A small image remains.
Left to be
Whatever it will be
To whomever it finds.
Later again,
In a gallery studio,
Images undergo a second incarnation.
This time through conversation with
Clay, Body, and Mind.
Here is a taste of the ceramic output from my Artist-In-Residency at the Good Egg Gallery during May, 2021, Stage 2 of the Project.
The process of transforming the designs from the pen-on-paper of Stage 1 to carved clay for Stage 2, challenged me. Any instrument which would carve didn’t move with the same fluidity as the pen, however, there were new sorts of moving and marking. Colour could also be factored in and I loved the open-mindedness of blues, the enthusiasm of the oranges, the pop of red!
As you’ll see from the images below, it was an enriching process.
